On the sidelines of the "Assam Tourist Road Show 2022," which was organised by the Assam Department of Tourism, the new tourism policy was announced. In order to entice businesspeople and investors to choose the state as their investment location, there were also panel discussions, audio video presentations, cultural dance performances, and B2B interactive sessions.

The policy was developed following extensive discussions with the World Bank, and throughout the process, the opinions of industry experts and stakeholders were given full consideration. The new Assam Tourism Policy 2022 has been developed at a good moment as the state prepares to embark on new endeavours.

The policy strives to ensure and protect effective process and practise standardisation, to promote consistency, which can lead to sustainability and a general increase in the quality of tourism goods.

"With this new approach, we want to make it possible for everyone to see it from the perspective of the attraction. The state has several tourism-related opportunities thanks to the availability of clean water, forests, mountains, and rivers. The new tourist strategy shares this objective. With all that it has to offer, Assam is likely to charm visitors from all over the world. According to Shri Jayanta Malla Baruah, minister of public health, engineering, skill development, employment & entrepreneurship, and tourism for the government of Assam, "We have also developed special packages for investors."

The purpose of the Policy is "to develop a policy framework and strategic roadmap in conjunction with central ministries, various state government agencies, local communities, and tourist stakeholders to enhance the Assam tourism sector, to assist the private sector engaged in tourism in the state, and to strengthen the support segments and sub-sectors of tourism."

The Department of Tourism will enable on-the-job training that local firms will give for local employees in hotels and resorts with the goal of employing local youngsters in mind. These initiatives will urge businesses to offer childcare assistance and secure transportation for female employees, especially those who work nights, and will endeavour to elevate women into management and leadership roles within their organisations. The training of women in traditionally male-dominated occupations like guides, cooks, waiters, and drivers will receive special attention, and businesses that support women in these roles will be recognised.

Atul Bora, Assam's Minister of Agriculture, UG Brahma, Assam's Minister of Handloom and Textiles, and Sanjoy Kishan, Assam's Minister of Labor and Employment, attended the Assam Tourism Road Show as well.
