Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today announced that 87 investors have signed MoUs with the state government, amounting to an investment of approximately Rs 3,700 crore. Saha made this announcement while addressing the Business Conclave 2025 at Hotel Polo Towers, Agartala.

He stated that over the past few years, the state government has actively worked to attract investors from within the country as well as abroad.

"Finally, we can say that we have succeeded in this initiative. About 87 investors have signed MoUs with the state government, amounting to an investment of approximately Rs 3,700 crore. Investors seek peace and harmony in the places where they invest. We have ensured an environment of peace and stability in Tripura, which is why investors are coming here and feel safe. Additionally, we offer several incentive schemes, including subsidies in the electricity sector and capital investment. The state also has many industry-friendly policies," Saha said.

He further highlighted the significance of Business Conclave 2025 – Destination Tripura, calling it a milestone event in the industrial development of the state.
"Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has referred to the North East as ‘Ashtalakshmi’ and prioritised its development through the Act East Policy. Tripura is one of the most peaceful states in the country and the Northeast. The state has a vast reserve of natural gas, resulting in power surpluses. Tripura’s economy is primarily driven by agriculture and related industries. The state has launched an ambitious vision document called Lakshya 2047. "We are among the better-performing states in the North East, with significant improvements in key economic indicators. The estimated per capita income has risen substantially, and the GSDP has grown significantly, ranking as the second highest in the North East," he added.

"Once the Maitri Setu in Sabroom becomes operational, it will serve as the gateway to Southeast Asia. The Special Economic Zone (SEZ) has already been constructed, and several investors have shown keen interest in it. We have also developed three modern Integrated Check Posts (ICPs). There is immense potential for setting up industries, especially in sectors using resources such as rubber, bamboo, agar, natural gas, agro-based industries, food processing, tourism, handicrafts, and handloom," he said.
