Guwahati: The Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) has organised a two-day workshop on "Digital Marketing and E-Commerce" for brass metal artisans in Hajo, Assam. The workshop aims to empower these artisans by equipping them with essential digital tools to market their products independently and reduce their dependency on intermediaries.
The primary objective is to assist artisans in strategically positioning themselves for online business opportunities, fostering sustainable growth in their operations, and crafting digital catalogues for their brass metal products.
The workshop was attended by distinguished dignitaries, including Shri Lokesh Kumar Parganiha, Director of MSME-DI, Guwahati Ganesh Chandra Das, Assistant Director, MSME-DI, Guwahati, Anupam Anand, Branch Manager of the newly launched Hajo Branch of SIDBI, and Rafijul Hussain, Assistant Manager, DIC, Kamrup (M).
The workshop covered several key topics, including the importance of onboarding businesses on digital platforms, promotion, branding and selling products via social media, and establishing a brand on Instagram to drive sales. Experts shared insights on the importance of branding and how to onboard and sell on e-commerce platforms and provided an introduction to WhatsApp Business for trade enhancement.
Post-workshop, SIDBI will provide ongoing hand-holding support to participants to help implement their newly acquired skills, including assistance with brand identity design, social media page creation, e-commerce onboarding, and WhatsApp Business integration. The upcoming phase will be crucial as artisans will apply these digital strategies to their trade, strengthening their market presence and business sustainability.
