Dibrugarh: Dibrugarh, an industrial hub in Assam renowned for its tea trading industry and its role as a gateway to prominent tourist spots, is set to welcome its largest hospitality addition with the introduction of a Ginger hotel.

With this addition the city will serve as a strategic gateway to neighbor Arunachal Pradesh, facilitating vital connectivity and trade routes.

The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India's foremost hospitality entity, has revealed its signing in Dibrugarh, Assam, marking the entry of the Ginger brand into this industrial city.

The 77-key hotel, a greenfield project on a fully fitted lease, will embody Ginger's signature lean luxe design and service philosophy, promising guests a vibrant, contemporary, and seamless hospitality experience. Strategically located on KC Gogoi Path in the city center, the hotel enjoys proximity to Dibrugarh Airport and key tourist attractions, making it an ideal choice for both business and leisure travelers.

The introduction of the Ginger hotel will not just enhance the city's tourism infrastructure but also catalyze economic activity and foster development in Dibrugarh, benefiting both local communities and businesses alike.

Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President, Real Estate & Development, IHCL, expressed her enthusiasm about the strategic move, stating, "This signing is in line with IHCL’s strong commitment to North East India. We are delighted to partner with Vela Hotel & Resort LLP for this Ginger hotel."

The partnership with Vela Hotel & Resort LLP marks a significant step forward for both parties. Vedanta Baruah, representing Vela Hotel & Resort LLP, commented, "We are excited to be associated with India’s leading hospitality company. This will be the first Ginger hotel in Dibrugarh."

The hotel will offer a range of amenities including Qmin, the signature all-day diner showcasing global and local favorites, as well as a state-of-the-art fitness center and meeting rooms. This development not only enhances the hospitality infrastructure in Dibrugarh but also contributes to the economic growth of the region.

The company currently has six hotels in Assam, with four more under development.
