Toyota Kirloskar Motor Allocated 827 Acres in Maharashtra for New Production Plant

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) was given 827 acres of land on Monday to build a new manufacturing factory in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, according to an official.

On July 31, TKM signed an agreement with the state government to establish a greenfield manufacturing site for electric and hybrid vehicles.

"A greenfield smart industrial city was established in a collaborative cooperation between the Central and Maharashtra governments through a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) known as the Maharashtra Industrial Township Limited. The nodes of Shendta and Bidkin are being developed," said a Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) official.

This initiative has begun to attract investment, and Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Limited was awarded 827 acres of land in the Bidkin node of this industrial metropolis today, he stated. 

"The business (TKM) would invest Rs 21,000 crore in this manufacturing unit. The work will start soon, and manufacturing is slated to begin in January 2026. "This project will create 8,000 direct jobs and 18,000 indirect jobs," the official said. 

After signing the agreement with TKM, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde stated that 4 lakh electric and hybrid automobiles will be made each year with an investment of Rs 20,000 crore, and that this project will transform the automobile market.
