Union Minister of Textiles Giriraj Singh inaugurated the 59th edition of the IHGF Delhi Fair-Spring 2025 on Wednesday at the India Expo Centre and Mart, Greater Noida. Organised by the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH), the four-day fair is scheduled from April 16 to 19 and brings together more than 3,000 exhibitors across 16 thematic display halls.
Emphasising India’s rich handicraft legacy, Singh lauded EPCH’s pivotal role in altering the fair into a worldwide acclaimed sourcing platform. “It is a proud moment to witness how this fair celebrates India’s traditional craftsmanship while positioning the country as a leading destination for sustainable and eco-friendly manufacturing,” said the Union Minister.
Acknowledging tests faced by exporters due to rising U.S. tariffs, Singh assured attendees of the government’s active participation in bilateral discussions and policy measures to safeguard export interests. He further encouraged exporters to diversify their markets, leverage Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), and broaden their product portfolios to maintain growth impetus.
This edition is witnessing participation from a vast network of international buyers, Indian buying agents, and top-tier EPCH member exporters. The India Expo Centre’s 900 permanent marts—spanning multiple levels—offer an improved obtaining experience, showcasing premier Indian handicraft brands.
EPCH Chairman Dileep Baid said that each edition of the IHGF continues to build worldwide confidence in the superior quality and unique design of Indian products. “This fair creates new business opportunities and strengthens buyer-seller relationships. With ongoing government support and potential trade agreements, we are optimistic about broadening India’s export footprint,” noted Baid.
A key high point of the event is the dedicated area featuring award-winning artisans from across India. Live demos in crafts such as Madhubani painting, Pashmina Sozni embroidery, Lac bangle making, Sikki grass art, and metal engraving—many of which hold Geographical Indication (GI) status—offer visitors a first-hand experience of India’s artisanal excellence.

Complementing the exhibits, upcoming sessions over the next two days include knowledge seminars on topics such as the addition of AI in product design, cybersecurity for exporters, and AI-powered tools for optimising export operations—aimed at empowering exporters with ground-breaking business plans.
Celebrated as one of India’s largest and most prestigious trade fairs, the IHGF Delhi Fair continues to play a vital role in endorsing the nation's handcrafted exports while bridging the gap between tradition and novelty.
