Silchar: Amid speculation regarding the fate of the much-discussed Multi-Modal Logistics Park (MMLP) STUDY in Barak Valley, Silchar MP Dr. Rajdeep Roy told newsmen that the Salchapra area in Cachar district's Borkhola seat had been chosen for the project's implementation.
"We've been working on this for the past nine months, and the government has already requested the TATA group and CBRE, a Japanese firm, to submit a report (DPR) for the MMLP, which will be spread out over 115 bighas of land. We chose the Salchapra location because it appeared to be a good fit for MMLP's goals. I've spoken with Panchayat-level leaders and am certain that the MMLP's manifestation would bring about revolutionary change "On the sidelines of a press conference to update the media on the various components of the newly revealed Union Budget”, Dr. Roy remarked.
He quickly announced that he would meet with Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari to discuss the issue and other related issues.
It should be noted that during his visit to Silchar in 2020, the Union Minister promised that, similar to Jogighopa, a Multi-Modal Logistics Park will be built in Barak Valley shortly. Furthermore, describing the recently revealed Budget as a visionary and futuristic step by the Central government, the Silchar MP dwelt on the feasible features, including the Prime Minister's Gati Shakti and how the Budget will benefit the people of the country.
Rajdeep Goala, the State BJP's spokesperson, downplayed the benefits of the Union Budget for the people of the country.
"This year's budget is a comprehensive one that takes into account the country's goals until 2047. An important factor for asset creation is an increase in capital expenditure "Goala stated his opinion.
