Assam Government's visionary Apun Ghar Home Loan Subvention Scheme was recently launched by the Punjab National Bank.

It is an interest subvention scheme for housing loans for regular state government employees and was first announced in the budget of 2016-2017. Under the Apun Ghar home loan scheme, the state government provides an interest subsidy of 1 percent for government employees on home loans.

"The latest scheme is with lots of promises. Upon taking the loan, the customer will get a one percent loan subvention. For loans up to RS. 15 lakhs then the debtor need not mortgage their homes," stated an official of PNB.

This is the first time that the scheme has been adopted by the Punjab National Bank.

Regarding Puja offers, there will be zero processing fees on car and home loans during Puja as a festive offer.

PNB is now the second largest public sector bank in India post its merger with the Oriental Bank, and the United Bank of India in 2020.

The bank has around 180 million customers across the world with one lakh employees. In the entire Northeast, it has over 400 branches.
