NHPC reports highest-ever financial performance for a half-year

New Delhi: NHPC Limited, the Indian public sector hydropower company, has announced record standalone and consolidated profits after tax (PAT) for the half-year ending September 30, 2023.

According to India’s Ministry of Power, the NHPC registered the highest ever half-yearly standalone PAT of Rs 2,500 crores, against the standalone PAT of Rs 2,483 crores for the corresponding previous half-year.

At the same time, the NHPC’s consolidated PAT for the current half-year is Rs 2,583 crores against a consolidated PAT of Rs 2,575 crores for the corresponding previous half-year.

The NHPC’s board approved the financial results for the quarter and half year at a meeting held on Monday. The power giant’s total installed capacity is 7,097.2 megawatts (MW) of renewable power through its 25 power stations, including 1,520 MW from its subsidiaries.

It is worth mentioning that the NHPC is also undertaking the construction of the 2,000 MW Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project located in Arunachal Pradesh and Assam, the largest such project in the entire country.
