Guwahati: The National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) has denied any damage to any permanent component due to heavy rains in Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.

The NHPC officials informed Business Northeast that no such loss or damage to any of the permanent components namely dam, powerhouse, etc, of Subansiri Lower Project have occurred due to this rain.

Additionally, it is clarified that Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project is not holding or releasing any additional quantity of water in Subansiri River.

The river water is flowing from upstream of Dam Structure through spillway to the downstream in its normal course as it usually flows during the rainy season.

Further, the permanent wall structure of Power House i.e. Tail Race Channel (TRC) has already been completed and there is no threat to Power House due to the increased discharge in river. Construction activities inside the Power House are going on as usual.
