Meghalaya Cabinet on Tuesday have  approved the Meghalaya Building Amendment Byelaws, 2022, and the Meghalaya Minor Mineral Reclamation Fund Management (Amendment) Guidelines, 2022, as well as the notification for the Meghalaya Professions, Trades, Callings, and Employment Taxation Rules.

"It was a very straightforward adjustment where the agencies that are eligible to implement the money was simply expanded in the sense that before there were nine agency which may implement the funds we have included the bio-diversity board and that was the only amendment that was done," Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma stated regarding the modified Meghalaya Minor Mineral Reclamation Fund Management Guidelines.

He stated, "These are standard practises," in reference to the Meghalaya Professions, Trades, Callings, and Employment Taxation Rules. We have announced the rules, which must be followed once the Act is in effect.

In response to the Cabinet's approval of the Meghalaya Building Amendment Byelaws, 2022, he stated that "some adjustments have been made and there are a long list of specifics; it would not be feasible for me to go through them all since they are also very technical in nature."
