Guwahati: The Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport is observing Aviation Security Culture Week in association with the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) to promote safety and security throughout the Airport from July 31 to August 5 with an array of events.
The week started with the safety pledge ceremony held at the assembly point where the LGBIA and BCAS team pledged together their continued dedication to ensure the safety and security of all aircraft operations. This safety pledge is a powerful reminder that everyone on board is responsible for everyone else’s safety.
Many interactive series of events are planned during this week, including a 5-km walkathon and quiz competition. More than 200 LGBIA personnel took part in the walkathon being held on airport premises.
The regional director of BCAS, W Samananda Singh, said safety and security stand as the cornerstones of our operations at Guwahati International Airport. “We take immense pride as we celebrate Aviation Security Week, to honour the steadfast dedication of the Bureau of Civil Aviation (BCAS), the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), the Airline and other airport security teams who tirelessly safeguard every aspect of airport operations,” he added.
