IIT Guwahati Signs MoU With Orthopaedic Implant Manufacturer

Guwahati: The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with orthopaedic implant manufacturer Miraclus Orthotech Private today limited to cooperation on innovative research, development, and testing of progressive orthopaedic implants and instruments. 

The MoU was employed by Rohit Sinha, Dean, Research and Development, IIT Guwahati, and Pranav Thaker, Managing Director of Miraclus Orthotec Private Limited., in the presence of Sukumar Nandi, S. Kanagaraj, Souptick Chanda, and P. Kishore Kumar from IIT Guwahati, Dr. Kashif Akhtar Ahmed from AIIMS Guwahati, and Manas Mishra, Hardik Kakkadiya, Nikunj Patel, and Nithin Shajeendran from Miraclus Orthotec Private Limited. 

The company aims to address critical tests in the medical device subdivision and deliver high-quality, well-organized answers to recover patient care.

The company will focus on four key areas: Research and Development. Joint efforts to design next-generation orthopaedic implants and instruments; Product Testing and Validation: Leveraging IIT Guwahati's state-of-the-art facilities to ensure products meet global quality standards; Skill Development: Conducting workshops, training programs, and knowledge-sharing sessions to provide students and researchers with practical exposure to medical device technology; and Intellectual Property Creation: Co-developing patents and publishing research outcomes to advance the field.
