Guwahati: Hindustan Power has sealed a deal with the Government of Assam to advance Rs. 620 crore in power and battery energy storage projects. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit in Guwahati on February 25-26.

Associated with Hindustan Power's ambitious vision of attaining a 5 GW energy range over the following three years, this investment is expected to drive the growth of a 100 MW solar power plant together with a state-of-the-art 100 MW battery energy storage scheme.

The company will invest Rs.500 crore for the solar plant and Rs.120 crore for the battery storage facility. MW battery energy storage defines the power and energy capacity of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
