HDFC’s star-studded campaign for PayZapp. What is it about?

Mumbai: HDFC bank has launched a star-studded campaign for its ‘PayZapp’ app which features popular actors Tiger Shroff, Prabhu Deva, and Kapil Sharma, and attempts to tap their wide appeal to forge a consumer connect. 

The tongue-in-cheek campaign was actually conceptualised by Wondrlab India, a martech network that includes three clips featuring the three actors wherein they emphasize the importance of having “choices”, which, they claim, will be provided by the PayZapp app.

“The campaign came from the insight that some people live their whole lives without having choices, but now they do not have to, at least when it comes to payments”, the bank said in a release.

Key features of the revamped PayZapp include making payments via UPI, cards, and PayZapp wallet. “PayZapp accepts diverse payment modes; you can scan any QR code and swipe to pay for online shopping or bill payments. Customers have the choice of making payments to any app, any QR code and any mobile number”, the Mumbai-headquartered HDFC said.

Ravi Santhanam, group head, chief marketing officer, and head of the D2C business described the PayZapp as a “lifestyle enabler.” Amit Akali, the CCO and co-founder of Wondrlab India said, “We explored how we can drive the point of unlimited choices by showing the viewers what happens when they don’t have a choice in life.”
