Emerging North East Summit 2023 focuses on overall development of NE

Guwahati: The Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industry of India spearheaded the launch of The Emerging North East Exhibition (ASSOCHAM).

Bimal Bora, Minister for Industries and Commerce, Govt of Assam, Dr. Laxman S., Industry Secretary, Government of Assam, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Government of Tripura, IFS Shri M L Srivastava, Agriculture Secretary, Govt. of Assam, IAS Dr. Ashish Kumar Bhutani, Saroj Kumar Jha, Additional Secretary moFPI, Govt of India, CMD, Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited, IAS Sanjay Goyal, Hydro Power Div. Corporation CMD Toko Anuj and ONGC Tripura Power Company MD Saneel C Namboodiri Pad along with several dignitaries were present at the inaugural of the North East exhibition.

The sixth edition of Assocham's Emerging North East 2023 programme seeks to provide the region's potential a chance to be seen by the North East's parent state as well as by regionally focused national and international organisations. The exhibition also strives to offer appropriate sponsorship, branding, and advertising options to achieve the predetermined goals of its programmes.

Leading businesses, organisations, farmers, subject matter experts, and suppliers of solutions were present on the opening day of the two-day conference in Guwahati to support the sector and highlight their advantages and prospects to aid in the growth of the area. Parminderjit Kaur, Senior Director, ASSOCHAM requested that people form strategic alliances as part of it in order to grow the important North East market sectors.

A number of national level organisations, ministries, and other stakeholders from the region reacted to the action. It reviewed the "Growing North East-Development Strategy for Development" and "Developing Industrialization Opportunities in the Food Processing Sector in Assam."

Increasing profitability and ensuring stronger returns on investments made in the area are two goals of this shift. Additionally, this will provide local youth, women, NGOs, and development organisations with a chance to network with national institutions, businesses, professionals, and politicians.

The conference meeting's primary focus, in addition to the exhibition, was on natural resources, including promotion and advancement of renewable energy as well as handicrafts, agriculture, horticulture, fisheries, food processing, and medicinal plants. The contribution of the financial programmes offered by the State, Central Agencies, and Institutions to entrepreneurs will also be highlighted.
