North East Dairy And Foods Limited holds first board meeting

Guwahati: The new joint venture firm "North East Dairy And Foods Limited" conducted its first board meeting on February 8, 2023, at its registered office at the West Assam Milk Producers' Cooperative Union Ltd. (WAMUL) building in Guwahati to examine preliminary issues relevant to the new joint venture company's functioning.

The Board Meeting was attended by Minister for Cooperation, GoA, Smt. Nandita Garlosa as the Chairperson of the new company and by Chairman, NDDB, Meenesh C Shah as one of the Directors in the Board of the new company. The meeting was attended by all the Directors of the Company – Shri Maninder Singh, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Cooperation Dept., GoA, Shri Manish Thakur, IAS, Principal Secretary, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Dept., GoA, Shri Jayant Narlikar, IAS, Commissioner and Secretary, Finance Dept., GoA and Shri S Regupathi, Sr. General Manager, NDDB, Shri S Rajeev, General Manager, NDDB and Shri SB Bose, General Manager, NDDB.

North East Dairy And Foods Limited

On January 17, 2023, a new firm was established as a joint venture between the Government of Assam (GoA) and the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), with equal share capital contributions. The Honb'le Minister for Cooperation, GoA, Smt. Nandita Gorlosa, received the certificate of incorporation for the new firm "North East Dairy And Foods Limited" from the Chairman, NDDB.

The Board Members discussed launching operations and putting Assam Dairy Development Plan (ADDP) in mission mode, a comprehensive dairy development programme.

The ADDP was established by NDDB and GoA to carry out the goal of the Hon'ble CM of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, to make Assam self-sufficient in the production, procurement, processing, and marketing of milk and milk products.
