Mizoram governor Hari Babu Kambhampati called for the Centre's support in connecting 118 villages still separated by all-weather roads. He highlighted the limited impact of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) due to fewer habitations while addressing the 72nd Plenary Meeting of the North Eastern Council (NEC) in Agartala on Saturday.

Mizoram Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati urged the Centre for road connectivity to 118 remote villages, better market infrastructure, organic

certification, cross-border trade integration, and improved support for the National Mission on Edible Oils-Oil Palm.

Hari Babu Kambhampati highlighted the necessity for healthy market construction and suggested the creation of a devoted organic certification agency for the region. He also praised the DoNER Ministry's investment efforts and called for integrating cross-border marketplaces to attract more investment allies and a state-of-the-art skill development centre to enhance vocational training.

The Governor also pointed to challenges in the National Mission on Edible Oils-Oil Palm, advocating for a better market structure and organic certification agency. The National Mission on Edible Oils-Oil Palm (NMEO-OP), which has been in process in Mizoram since 2021, faces trials like inadequate seedling accessibility and unfortunate agrarian farm roads.
