Guwahati: The Confederation of Indian Industry - Southern Region is organizing the first edition of Foodpro North-East 2023, a significant event focused on the food processing industry. The event is scheduled from September 14th to 16th, 2023, at the Maniram Dewan Trade Centre in Guwahati.
The event features a three-day exhibition with the participation of over 50 exhibitors from various parts of India. It provides a platform for showcasing products and innovations in the food processing sector.
Foodpro North-East includes sectoral conferences, which are likely to focus on industry trends, challenges, and opportunities. The event will facilitate B2B (business-to-business), B2G (business-to-government), and B2C (business-to-consumer) meetings, creating networking and business opportunities.
The expo is anticipated to attract over 6,000 business and trade visitors from different parts of India. The theme of Foodpro North-East 2023 is "Growing the Market for Food Processing in North-East."

Background: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has a history of organizing its flagship event "Foodpro" since 1995. This event has garnered significant support from the food processing industry and key stakeholders over the years.
This initiative is supported by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MOFPI), Government of India. It has also received participation from other government nodal agencies such as CFTRI (Central Food Technological Research Institute) and the Spices Board.
Alongside the exhibition, a Conference on Food Processing is scheduled for September 14th, 2023. The conference aims to bring together more than 200 senior management personnel from the food processing and agricultural industries. It will focus on promoting technology-based knowledge among stakeholders in the Agro and Food Processing sectors in the Northeast.
