Finding which hospital provides what treatment at what cost has been a nerve wracking experience for people here. The wait has now finally ended with a health startup from Assam now providing a one-stop solution for all healthcare issues.

A  healthcare startup from Assam- Zemidi is building the Oyo of healthcare by aggregating hospitals offering fixed-price healthcare.

"We are a one stop solution for any healthcare assistance. Although we primarily deal with secondary care, we have also included other ancillary services starting from tele doctor consultation, ambulance service, cancer care, diagonistic services, medicine delivery to mental health which are now available in our platform. We want to ensure that "Zemidi" becomes a Mall of all kinds of healthcare services in the near future" Deepankar Bhattacharjya Chief Operating Officer of Zemidi told BusinessNortheast.

Zeimidi provides primary, seconday and ancillary services and the rates are competitive in nature. "The rates are affordable compared to star category hospitals, however we would ensure that quality of service remains at par. We list our packages and the respective hospitals can put their price as per their choice and the customers/patients in turn can compare, choose and book per the geographical proximity and budget" he said.

On the issue of funds, he said they  are raising funds through the friends and family round now. "However we are going for institutional funding by Jan 2023" he said.

"We are targeting the small and medium hospitals segments as we believe that we would be the "OYO" of Hospitals. Like OYO did not sign up with the big brands of the hospitality industry we would do the same and empower the small and medium hospitals providing affordable and quality healthcare across the nation" he said. Zemidi started operations in July this year.

A common man has great fear to visit  private hospitals due to apprehensions about the charges and quality of treatment. "Today, when we talk about hospitalization, people do spend money, however we want to ensure that the money is spent at the right place and that is why we have given the power of "Choice" to the people prior to any treatment" he said.

He said out of 10 people we spoke about the hospitalization issue, almost 8 have bitter experiences of hospitalization something which is not less than a nightmare. "We ought to bring about clarity, transparency and trust in the healthcare industry so that people can have a great hospitalization experience and also empowering the small and medium hospitals in the process creating a win-win situation.

"We have launched our services in Assam and have signed up with 10+ hospitals and have more than 350+ live packages which can be accessed by anyone looking for the services and have the Zemidi app installed. Thanks to technology that we can connect patients and hospitals across nooks and corners, however, having said that we are expanding and plan to expand pan India as there are around 45000 private Hospitals in India" he said.

There can be situations where the patients run short of money. "We are soon coming up with one more segment through which we would facilitate fund raising to help patients who are financially weak and we will do that through collaboration with organizations who are doing the same" he said.

Deepankar said there is a list of future plans, however, we want to do one thing at a time. As of now we are coming up with something called "Healthcare Mitra" through which we would create agents who would be providing basic healthcare assistance in the community level.

"They would be the bridge between people and Zemidi through which we can bring about a human element through which we would create a complete ecosystem of healthcare assistance. We plan to implement the same in Assam and then gradually spread our wings to the remaining North Eastern states" he said.
