Ahead of Vishwakarma puja, various street stalls across Guwahati are offering an array of items for the festival. Shoppers were seen purchasing garlands for both idols and vehicles, although vendors reported that sales have yet to pick up. Many expect a significant increase in footfall by the evening when more people are likely to shop for Puja essentials.
Items available at the stalls include Vishwakarma idols, garlands, and fruits such as coconuts, apples, and Pomelo. Several Puja pandals have already been set up, and some idols have been brought in, ready for the rituals scheduled for tomorrow. At Jyoti Chitraban, preparations are in full swing for their annual Vishwakarma puja celebration.
Organizers have shared Business North East that Rs 80,000 will be invested to ensure the event is held on a grand scale.
