IIM Calcutta Hosts MeitY TIDE 2.0 Northeast Techathon

Guwahati: Pranjal Konwar, the Chief Operating Officer of IIM Calcutta Innovation Park (IIMCIP), highlighted the significant impact of their efforts during the Techathon in Guwahati, stating, “IIMCIP has impacted over 4 million lives in the area of entrepreneurship.”

IIM Calcutta, in collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), is spearheading the TIDE 2.0 Northeast Techathon – X4 across the Northeast region. This initiative is designed to nurture and empower aspiring entrepreneurs by providing a platform to present innovative business ideas.

Konwar added "The Techathon has drawn enthusiastic participation from innovators and entrepreneurs across the Northeast, who have showcased their ideas and prototypes. This event not only serves as a platform for innovation but also offers participants opportunities for seed funding, mentorship, and incubation support. Selected participants will have the opportunity to further develop their ideas at the IIM Calcutta Innovation Park, with potential grants of up to Rs. 7 lakhs for creating a Minimum Viable Product (MVP)."

The Techathon, taking place at various locations across the Northeast, provides participants with expert mentorship, the chance to refine their business models, and the possibility of securing incubation at the prestigious IIM Calcutta Innovation Park. The event aims to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in the region, contributing to the growth of a vibrant startup ecosystem.

Entrepreneurs in the Northeast are encouraged to seize this unique opportunity to gain exposure, network with industry experts, and elevate their business ideas to the next level.

An official from IIMCIP informed Business North East that the Techathon has already been conducted in Arunachal Pradesh and Assam, with additional events scheduled across the Northeast in September. Startups selected in the final rounds will receive national exposure, further enhancing their potential for success.
