How Byrnihat's EPIP Industrial zone is driving Meghalaya's economic renaissance

Byrnihat: Meghalaya's burgeoning industrial landscape, the EPIP (Export Promotion Industrial Park) area in Byrnihat, Ri-Bhoi district, has emerged as a vibrant hub for multiple industries. The zone has witnessed a rapid influx of companies, contributing significantly to the state's economic growth.

The EPIP area is home to a diverse array of industries, including heavyweights such as Shyam Century Ferrous Ltd., Maithan Alloys Ltd., Meghalaya Steel Ltd., Nezone Tubes Ltd., Umadutt Industries Ltd., Seven Sisters Plastics Pvt. Ltd., Jay Plastics, and Marda Industries Pvt. Ltd. Each of these companies has chosen Byrnihat for its strategic location, robust infrastructure, and conducive business environment, Business NorthEast has learned from people familiar with the matter.

Shyam Century Ferrous Ltd, leading in ferro alloys production with an annual capacity of 120,000 tonnes of ferro silicon and 75,000 tonnes of ferro manganese has established a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility that not only meets domestic demand but is also believed to be contributing to exports.
