IIM Shillong Signs MoU with SIDBI

The Indian Institute of Management Shillong (IIM Shillong Foundation for Incubation and Enterprise) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) to launch an Entrepreneurship Training and Incubation Program.

The partnership aims to provide comprehensive entrepreneurship training and incubation support to aspiring entrepreneurs by leveraging SIDBI's extensive network and IIMSFIE's infrastructure and experience.

The Skill to Enterprise Model (STEM) Programme, introduced in partnership with SIDBI, is designed to equip aspiring entrepreneurs with the skills, knowledge, and mentorship needed to turn their innovative ideas into successful businesses.

Prof. D.P. Goyal, Director of IIM Shillong, emphasized the partnership's significance, calling it a major step forward in IIM Shillong's mission to support and incubate entrepreneurship in the North East and beyond. Bhanu Prakash Verma, General Manager and In-Charge of the North East Zone for SIDBI, expressed confidence that this collaboration will empower young entrepreneurs to realize their potential and build sustainable businesses.

The STEM Programme will offer a mix of practical training, mentorship, and incubation support, ensuring entrepreneurs have the resources they need at each stage of their business journey.

IIMSFIE will also provide an intensive 18-month entrepreneurship training program for 30 selected candidates, focusing on the development of innovative and sustainable enterprises and empowering participants to create sustainable livelihoods.
