Guwahati: TRISSAM is becoming a household today, particularly among the tribal population.

Launched on September 30, 2020, in Assam by the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), TRISSAM products are now available at its outlets in Guwahati and other parts of Assam.

TRISSAM

TRISSAM is formed under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Van Dhan Yojana’ scheme, which is exclusively developed for the native tribes, collecting and processing naturally available forest produce for earning their livelihood.

The scheme and the mission aim to represent value-added products that are being produced by the tribal beneficiaries and are being marketed, with an intention of embedding the goodwill of the tribal communities of Assam.

It represents an endeavour fuelled by our skilled beneficiaries to produce quality products. In Assam, the scheme is being implemented by Assam Plain Tribes Development Corporation Limited and the Department of Tribal Affairs (Plain) as the state implementing agency and the nodal agency, respectively.

IIE being the resource agency has been effectively and efficiently implementing the project in Assam since its inception, while TRIFED is the sponsoring agency for the project.

The scheme has established its distinctive presence in 33 districts with 302 sanctioned clusters comprising 90,600 registered beneficiaries.
