Agartala: Tripura Industrial Development Corporation (TIDC) has terminated the lease agreement with Sikaria Mega Food Park Private limited for nonpayment of the rent of the allotted land to the industrial development body.
An order issued by the TIDC stated: “This office has decided to terminate the lease deed agreement vide No. 1-3224 dated 09.05.2012 along with the allotment Order No TIDC/ENGG/344/5386 dated 28/29.07.2011 and Lease agreement vide No. 1-254 dated 10.03.2021 & rectification deed No.1517 dated 08.11.2021 along with allotment order No. TIDC/ENGG/344/Vol-1/3638-43 Dated 06.02.2017 entered into between TIDC Ltd. and Sikaria Mega Food Park (P) Ltd with immediate effect.”
According to the TIDC, the 61.71 acres of land was allotted to the private group for setting up a food processing industry in 2011.
“The lessee has defaulted in payment of Rs.98.61,203/-(Rs.88.35.940/- for the land measuring 50 acres and Rs 10.25.263/- for the land measuring 1171) up to 31 March, 2024 towards the payment of monthly rent,” the order issued by TIDC added.
The official from TIDC said that several notices vide dated July 06 of 2019, 17th March of 2020, 08th November of 2022 etc. were issued to the lessee for making payment of the defaulted rental dues.
"However, the lessee did not pay the same till date. Thus, the lessee violated the terms of the lease agreements as stipulated in clause 4 sub-clause (iii), (vi) & (xiii) of the lease agreement vide No. 1-3224 dated 09.05.2012 and Clause 4 sub-clause (vi) & (xii) of the lease agreement No.1-254 dated 10.03.2021", the order reads.
Further the TIDC official said that the owners reportedly approached the TIDC to use the land for constructing a housing complex which was rejected.
"A total of Rs 40 crore subsidy was granted to the company under the various incentive schemes", said the official.
