Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister, Manik Saha, announced approvals for an increase in the number of seats in Agartala Government Medical College from 100 to 150.
The National Medical Commission (NMC) has stepped up the intake capacity from 100 to 150, providing more opportunities for aspiring medical students to explore the state and fulfill their dreams of becoming doctors.
The expansion is expected to boost healthcare services as an influx of professionals enters the field over time.
However, the ongoing controversy surrounding the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test - Undergraduate (NEET-UG) exam irregularities and ongoing CBI inquiry and Supreme Court cases have sparked protests from students across the country.
According to a release, "Saha has stressed the government's commitment to improving the healthcare sector in the state."
