Tripura Finance Minister direct officials to spend Centrally sponsored fund within March, reviews development works

Agartala: Tripura’s Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy on Wednesday directed the concerned departments to take necessary initiatives to implement the project within time and also instructed to spend the money allocated for various projects sanctioned by the central government's special assistance within the month of March.
 
The Finance Minister held a review meeting with the Chief Secretary of Tripura, Secretaries, Special Secretaries and Heads of various departments at the Secretariat this evening regarding the implementation of various projects. 
 
The Minister said that the purpose of this meeting is to ensure that the funds allocated in the budget are properly and timely utilized for the benefit of the people.
 
In the meeting, the Finance Minister reviewed in detail the projects under the Special Assistance Capital Scheme. 
 
During the meeting Minister Singha Roy gave necessary instructions to spend the money payable to the Central Government in the current financial year. 
 
“I have also directed the officials of all departments to implement the projects announced in the budget speech for the financial year 2023-24 to be implemented within this financial year. Moreover, various externally aided projects were also reviewed in the meeting”, said the minister.
 
He also reviewed the implementation of 13 projects announced by the Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha among the state projects and emphasized on proper implementation of these projects. 
 
“This meeting is organized today to review whether all the projects that have been undertaken by various departments according to the budget resources are being implemented properly or what is the progress of the project. Necessary instructions have also been given to the departments to ensure that not a single rupee is unspent as per the budget allocation. For the overall development of the state, the government has allocated Rs 27,654 crore in the budget of the fiscal year 2023-24. This year's budget has given special importance to education and health, mainly for capital investment, development of agriculture and agriculture-related sectors, improvement of standard of living of people of all sections and ensuring health services”, he added.
