Agartala: In a significant move to provide sustainable income opportunities to unemployed indigenous youths within the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), the administration has launched the TIPRA HAM Loan Scheme.
This innovative initiative, supported by Tripura Grameen Bank, aims to offer subsidies and the lowest interest rates to empower the indigenous Tiprasa community.
An official from TTAADC highlighted that the TIPRA HAM Loan Scheme is a suite of financial initiatives designed to promote socio-economic development, financial inclusion, and overall well-being of the Tiprasa people. "This scheme aims to enhance mobility and support entrepreneurial ventures through the provision of auto loans for commercial purposes," he stated.
The TIPRA HAM Auto Loan, a key component of this scheme, aims to provide sustainable income to unemployed indigenous youths, increase their wage-earning capacity, and contribute to the growth of the employment economy in district council areas. The official emphasized, "We want to encourage entrepreneurship and livelihood. For a transparent system, we have launched a portal where applicants can apply online. This portal will be available in all Village Councils in TTAADC."
In addressing the prevalent issue of unemployment within TTAADC, the administration has ensured that the auto loans are accessible at a lower price with a low-interest rate. Beneficiaries will be required to pay only around 15% of the total amount.
In line with the aim of a Clean and Green Tripura, the loan scheme will focus on providing E-Auto loans, given the high cost of fuel. "Charging points will be installed in all houses of those who apply for the loan. This is the first of its kind. Our duty is to provide opportunities for people to become self-reliant and earn more, and for that, we have introduced this policy," the official added.
The TIPRA HAM Loan Scheme represents a transformative step towards empowering the indigenous community, fostering entrepreneurship, and promoting sustainable development within TTAADC.
