The opening ceremony of the Kameng Culture and Heritage Museum took place in Arunachal Pradesh

Arunachal Pradesh : The Kameng Culture and Heritage Museum, an important establishment that honors the cultural diversity of Arunachal Pradesh, was officially opened today by Chief Minister Shri Pema Khandu in Nyukmadung, Dirang. The event was graced by important figures such as Union Minister Shri Kamlesh Paswan, Lieutenant General Gambhir Singh, and local MLA Shri Phurpa Tsering. This museum is a project under the Indian Army's Operation SADBHAVANA and supports the Government of India's Vibrant Village Programme, demonstrating the united effort towards nation-building. Its goal is to uphold age-old customs and help boost the area's social and economic development.

During his speech, Chief Minister Khandu highlighted the significance of the museum in preserving the cultural and historical importance of the region by referring to ancient texts such as the 'Kalika Purana' and 'Mahabharata.' He commended the Indian Army for quickly carrying out their plan and emphasized that the museum showcases their dedication to improving border regions through development projects, border tourism, and cultural rejuvenation. Minister Kamlesh Paswan appreciated the crucial significance of the Kameng area and commended the Indian Army's efforts in promoting collaboration between the military and civilians. Lieutenant General Gambhir Singh restated the Army's commitment to the socio-economic progress of border regions.

The museum contains 343 ancient heirlooms from the Neolithic era, donated by the local community. The inclusion of a contemporary cinema, gift store, eatery, kids' playground, and visitor assistance center establishes it as a prominent cultural center appealing to academics, historians, and visitors. More than 500 people, such as local residents and students, took part in traditional cultural performances to celebrate the inauguration. The museum, established to safeguard the heritage of Arunachal Pradesh, serves as a strong emblem of identity and strength for the state and the country.
