SPM IAS Academy has been at the forefront of providing quality mentoring and guidance to the students who have been preparing for a career in civil services.
When SPM started as a venture, the focus on the eyes of the Academy was to provide a platform for the youth of this region to shine and excel in government examinations and compete on every front- both all India level as well as the state. Three years into the journey, we have been able to contribute a substantial number who could actually clear the APSC examination. The enthusiasm among our students is high and this shows that we have been able to capitalize on the positive energy and take it towards a meaningful destination. With such designs, we believe that the coming times will be a tale of success for SPM IAS Academy as well as the region as a whole.
2. As one of the leading civil service preparation hubs, how is your organization helping to create potential leaders, and innovators in society?
Civil Services are concerned with the purposes of society as a whole. The government runs various policies for the disadvantaged sections of society. All this reflects the publicness of public administration. We, as an organization, are training the youth with the same objective in mind. We are focusing on making the aspirants aware of the country as a whole. We are making sure that they understand the basic tenets and come up with ideas to solve the issues that confront us. We are also ensuring the ethical component of civil services by training them intensively on how publicness of public service can be conserved or preserved.
3. Education Sector has been rapidly changing its course in the current period. How is your institution complying with the newest changes? And what is your view on the changes?
The changes in the education sector can be briefly summarized in the following:
The increasing role of technology.
Focus away from rote learning to understanding.
We have been at the forefront of incorporating both the changes. The adoption of digital boards, digital notes, internet-based distance learning, the use of technology to bridge barriers on mentorship, etc. is a few changes that we have brought in to steer through the change that we are witnessing in the current period.
To make an opinion on the changes, we have to acknowledge that change is the order of nature. Things, systems, and processes evolve and will evolve in the coming times as well. We need to adapt and adopt methods to incorporate changes for the betterment of education as a whole.
4. Could you tell the BNE readers about the challenges in the preparation of civil services? And how is the course provided here helping the students?
a) The challenges in the preparation for civil services be grouped under the following heads:
b) Lack of effective guidance so that the path to the destination can be traced.
c) Understanding of the syllabus as it comprises a diversity of topics both from science as well the field of liberal arts.
d) Revising the topics for effective and perpetual memory.
Standard notes aren’t available everywhere, which could cut short the time required for preparation.
Here at SPM IAS Academy, we are focusing on all the points. Our teachers themselves have qualified for various stages of the examination and are adept at helping the students trace their paths to their destination. We have also been focusing on providing teaching which goes beyond the usual practice of discrete subject-based education.
