Rongali festival a hit among revellers, local talents

Guwahati: The four-day Rongali festival, which started on April 20, has witnessed a resounding success with visitors from all over the state and beyond coming together to celebrate it.

According to the organisers, the footfall was more than 1 lakh in a day. "We're thrilled to see such a huge turnout for the festival. It's a testament to the love and enthusiasm that people have for our culture and diversity," said Shyam Kanu Mahanta.

The highly anticipated festival, which completed its 7th chapter, was aimed at promoting the unique culture of the state and celebrating its diversity through a series of events and activities.

The musical soirees were also a big draw, with popular artistes like Zubeen Garg, Priyanka Bharali, Deeplina Deka, Sannidhya Bhuyan, Goldi Sohel, Mitraz along with Xahityo Adda, Fashion shows performing to massive crowds, the organisers said.

The organisers further informed that the food stalls there recorded sales over Rs 1 lakh and the 'Vocal for Local Exhibition' registered sales of over Rs 1.7 lakh.
