New Delhi: The inflation rate for farm workers and rural labourers decreased to 5.96 per cent and 6.08 per cent in August from 6.17 per cent and 6.20 per cent in July of the current year. In the month of August 2024, the All-India Consumer Price Index for Agricultural Labourers (CPI-AL) and Rural Labourers (CPI-RL) both saw a rise of 7 points, reaching 1297 and 1309, respectively.
In July, the CPI-AL was at 1290 points and the CPI-RL at 1302 points. The inflation rates compared to last year in August 2024 were 5.96 pc based on CPI-AL and 6.08 pc based on CPI-RL, down from 7.37 pc and 7.12 pc in August 2023. A statement from the labor ministry reported that the CPI-AL and CPI-RL rates for July 2024 were 6.17 pc and 6.20 pc respectively.
