Shillong: As a part of ‘Techniche’, IIT Guwahati’s annual techno-management fest, the students of the institute have set sail for the next edition of Technothlon - the prestigious international school championship.

This year, the excitement knows no bounds as it is the Silver Jubilee edition of Techniche. The prelims are scheduled for July 23, and the competition goes virtual, allowing students to participate from the comfort of their own homes, using their respective devices.
Technothlon stands tall as an international school championship, an awe-inspiring initiative spearheaded by the brilliant minds of IIT Guwahati. Since its inception in 2004, Technothlon has traversed an awe-inspiring path spanning over 19 years, captivating the hearts and minds of students in over 400 cities worldwide.

Students from classes 9 to 12 will face the ultimate test of logic and creativity, aiming to claim the grand prize of Technothlon. Divided into two distinct squads, the competition intensifies as participants demonstrate their mettle individually.

The Juniors' Squad, comprising talented 9th and 10th standard students, and the Hauts Squad, consisting of exceptional 11th and 12th standard students, will take on separate sets of thought-provoking questions meticulously crafted by the students of IIT Guwahati.

Technothlon is conducted in two phases: prelims and mains. The preliminary round challenges participants to showcase their raw potential, as no initial preparation is required. This round demands sheer spontaneity and out-of-the-box thinking, putting the candidates' abilities to the ultimate test. The top 50 participants from each squad win the chance of advancing to the next round: the mains, which will be hosted during Techniche at IIT Guwahati from Aug 31 – Sep 3. Here, the competition intensifies, pushing the competitors to their limits, in a battle to claim the coveted championship.
