Cab services have recently seen a surge in the Guwahati city. With ola and uber, a lot of other online cab services like An2 cabs, Mytaxi, Jadu, WTI, ASTC City Cab have made their entry into the City.
These cabs not just commutes locally, but also provides intercity and airport rides at cheaper rates. As per reports, local taxis provide similar services at more cheaper rate. Around 3,000 drivers' are registered under Jadu Cab App with more than 10,000 passengers every month, followed by Mytaxi app, which has around 20 drivers registered and 80 cars under them with pre book services available.
All Guwahati Tourist Taxi Driver's Union speaking to Business-Northeast said, we charge a fixed rate, no matter the condition. Even though there are other cab and taxi services, we get enough of returning tourists. We charge Rs. 500 if it's sharing and full day booking ranges from Rs. 2000 to 5000.
