Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw on Tuesday at Rail Bhawan to discuss events aimed at resolving ancient conveyance tasks in Assam and the Northeast region.
The meeting engrossed on plans to ease legacy transport bottlenecks by expanding railway infrastructure, modernising technologies, enhancing data-sharing systems, optimising operational workflows, and fostering greater institutional teamwork.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw emphasised the importance of firming and increasing railway infrastructure to transform Assam into a planned logistics hub. He reiterated the Centre's commitment to supporting Assam's infrastructure push through sustained investments and technological raises.
The high-level discussion was joined by Assam Chief Secretary Ravi Kota, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister K.K. Dwivedi, and Assam Bhawan Resident Commissioner Kavitha Padmanabhan. The meeting lasted for nearly an hour.

Following the meeting, Chief Minister Dr. Sarma shared an update on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), stating:
