Chirang: The District Commissioner of Chirang, Jatin Bora, ACS, has declared a 2-kilometer radius around the IOCL-Bongaigaon Refinery complex and its adjoining township in Dhaligaon as a 'No Drone Zone.'
The directive follows a request from the refinery’s Executive Director and Head, citing concerns over aerial security threats.
The restriction prohibits the usage of drones, para-gliders, powered hang gliders, micro-light aircraft, hot air balloons, UAVs, and similar aerial devices within the designated area. The measure aims to protect the refinery and township from potential risks, including those posed by anti-national elements.
Security personnel are authorized to take decisive action, including neutralizing unauthorized aerial objects, in case of any violations. The order is effective immediately and will remain in force until further notice.
