Nagaland government school gets highly-anticipated science laboratory

Chumoukedima: The Government Higher Secondary School of Chumoukedima recently got a science laboratory that was inaugurated on Thursday, state government officials said. Principal Karen Yepthomi expressed gratitude to the district's deputy commissioner for setting up the lab, which has state-of-the-art infrastructure and required apparatus and chemicals. 

She commended the deputy commissioner Shivam's support and visionary leadership, stating that this will bless generations of students who will utilize the lab facility for their education. Notably, the school has an enrollment of over a thousand students from classes A to 12, maintaining the best results among government and private schools in Nagaland. llamguale A Zeliang, a student of the Arts stream of the school, achieved the 5th position in the HSSLC exam 2024. The school also won the first position in the Nagaland Science Olympiad.

As such, officials took a special initiative to ensure that the best-performing government school in the district should have a science lab for the students. 

Shivam, the deputy commissioner, appreciated the efforts of the school teachers and the principal for providing excellent education and motivated them to continue with sincerity and dedication. He also commended the collective efforts of the principal, Chumoukedima village council chairman, the local youth body, and others who had worked together to improve the school and demand the science stream. The senior official has urged the students to have "big dreams" and work hard to achieve them.
