Mumbai-based Suba Group of Hotels plans massive expansion in NE; calls for partners

Suba Group of Hotels, a hospitality chain based in South Mumbai, is planning to expand its footprint in the East and Northeast of the country.

Founded by Abubaker Mehta, the Company is looking to add 10-12 hotels in the coming 4-5 years through owning the hotels.

The group will be owning the hotel, but lease out the property via a management contract, revenue sharing or through a franchise model.

In the Northeast, Suba Group plans to expand to Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Silchar, Gangtok amongst other places.

Managing Director Mansur Mehta said that industry advancement and heavy investments are happening in the Northeast now. Siliguri will soon be an industrial hub and Sikkim a pharma hub.

He said that there is no good branded hotel in the budget to mid segment categories. The Suba Group is planning to create good stay options for corporate as well as leisure travelers.

The group is offering customers a wide range of hotels. From budget to upscale categories- the Suba Hotels, Choice Hotels, Quality and Clarion. The Click brand of hotels operates Click collection and Click Resorts. The group also has budget segment as well as Gen X and RNB.

The Suba Group is now looking for branding partners and partners for upkeeping plans which extend the maintenance lifecycle of the hotel to seven years.
