Guwahati: Exclusive telephonic interview with Mitali Ojha Gogoi, an inspiring entrepreneur from Dibrugarh, Assam, has a story that resonates with women and the younger generation. Her journey demonstrates that having a business mindset and focusing on work is more crucial than initial investment.

Born into a middle-class family in the Tengapani Tea Estate, Tinsukia. She  married in 2003 and has a daughter. Tragically, in 2016, both her husband and father passed away. These losses propelled her to take on the responsibility of supporting her family and motivated her to start her own business.

She obtained a contractor's license in 2014 but began her contracting work in 2018. Mitali recalls, "My first contract was for 93 lakh INR at the DC office. I had 10-15 workers and only 15,000 INR in my account." Alongside the DC office project, she secured contracts with a railway division and a river dam.

Today, Mitali Ojha Gogoi has a net worth of 5 crore INR and owns properties in several areas. She is currently managing projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission worth 1.45 crore INR, road construction projects worth 1.50 crore INR, and market yard contracts, employing a workforce of 150.

Mitali draws inspiration from APJ Abdul Kalam and strives to follow his example of social service. She supports the education of 10-12 students and provides financial assistance for medical needs, among other charitable activities.

Reflecting on her journey, Mitali states, "I never dreamed of becoming an entrepreneur, but circumstances and the need to be a strong mother transformed me. Women should not remain confined to their homes; they should step out and stand on their own."

Mitali Ojha Gogoi has received numerous accolades, including recognition in the Magic Book of Records, the Woman Leader Forum, and a special award for women entrepreneurs in Delhi.

Determined to achieve even greater success, Mitali remains focused on her career and committed to working hard.
