Mumbai : On Friday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde sanctioned two projects in Ratnagiri worth Rs 29,550 crore, creating 38,120 job opportunities, one of which is a major undertaking in the aerospace and defence field led by Reliance Infrastructure.
According to an official statement, projects involving advanced technology such as Silicon wafers, ATMP, fab, aerospace, and defence were approved by the cabinet sub-committee of the industries department, chaired by the CM.
This is the state's third major project that manufactures Silicon wafers, Fab, and ATMP. It is a project established by the Information Technology Park corporation located in Vellore. This project will be implemented in the MIDC areas of Watad and Jhadgaon. It was stated that a total of Rs 19,550 crore will be invested in the project, leading to the creation of 33,000 direct and indirect jobs. Reliance Infrastructure Company will establish a second project focusing on manufacturing aerospace and security sector equipment, as per the announcement.
This project will receive an investment of Rs.10,000 crore, leading to the creation of 4,500 job opportunities. This is the inaugural massive undertaking in the state within the aerospace and security industries. Both of these initiatives will contribute to enhancing job opportunities. The statement mentioned that new business initiatives will be created to further boost the local economy. The release also mentioned that it will boost technical innovation research and development, enhance the local supply chain, and support micro, small, and medium industries on a larger scale. The initiatives will provide training to nearby employees and offer chances for skill enhancement. It stated that this would certainly boost job opportunities and improve technological skills in the area.
