Guwahati: The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) of Upper Subansiri conducted a meeting in association with National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) to discuss various aspects for the improvement of agriculture and allied sectors in Daporijo district of Arunachal Pradesh on April 27.
The NABARD DDM, MK Lowang, emphasised uplifting the self-help groups by involving them in various agriculture and allied activities.
KVK Head Dr Simanta Kumar Kalita spoke about the programmes on value addition of millet conducted by the KVK, while KVK scientists Dr Dipankar Hazarika, Nyape Bam and Gyati Yakang expressed their views on the development of poultry farms with hatcheries.
Other programmes “for better income generation of rural farmers” will be on vermicompost units and value addition of king chilli and millets.
