Diphu: Karbi Anglong, a remote district in Assam got its first FM radio transmission. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated the 91 100W FM Transmitters across the country from his residence. This is going to be the 1st FM transmitter in Karbi Anglong Hills area. The district will now finally be able to enjoy radio transmission.
Chief Executive Member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Tuliram Ronghang was present at the AIR Diphu site during the inauguration, along with Parliament Member Horen Sing Bey.
The transmitter will be operating on FM frequency 100.1 MHz & will bring to the people a bouquet of various programmes of entertainment and education. The 100W Transmitter is expected to be heard in around 400 sq km area and benefitting thousands of listeners in the town & nearby villages.
