New Delhi: Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) has transformed its Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) distribution network through a digital initiative that aims to enhance customer experience, boost transparency, and improve operational efficiency. The key components of this transformation are the Delivery Authentication Code (DAC), Pre-Delivery Check (PDC), and the integration of digital payments and booking systems.

Designed to improve customer experience, enhance transparency, and streamline operations, the key features of this this transformation initiative include the Delivery Authentication Code (DAC), Pre-Delivery Check (PDC), and the integration of digital payments and booking systems.

“We are making efforts to create awareness in Assam regarding this as many people are not aware of digitalisation” said Chief General Manager Dr D.P. Vidyarthi during an interaction with Priyanka Chakrabarty of Business North East.

Delivery Authentication Code (DAC)

The DAC is a innovation ensuring safe and authenticated LPG delivery. Upon booking an LPG refill, customers receive a unique code. This code verifies the correct delivery, preventing unauthorized or incorrect deliveries. The DAC checks that intended recipient receives the LPG cylinder, adding a layer of security and transparency to the process.

Pre-Delivery Check (PDC)

The PDC initiative focuses on safety and product quality before handing over the LPG cylinder to the customer. Delivery personnel conduct a series of checks, including a visual inspection for damages or leaks, weighing, and sealing inspections. The results of the PDC are often updated on a mobile app that syncs with Indian Oil's central system, creating a transparent log of deliveries and quality checks. This initiative significantly enhances the safety and reliability of LPG deliveries.

Digital Payments Integration

Indian Oil has adopted various digital payment options to provide seamless transactions for customers. Payment methods include credit and debit cards, UPI apps like Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, net banking, and other mobile wallets. The integration of QR codes at delivery points simplifies cashless transactions, enhancing customer convenience.

Enhanced Digital Booking Systems

Digital booking has become more accessible through Indian Oil's digital platforms, such as the official website, mobile apps like 'Indane Gas,' SMS, and IVR services. Customers can book cylinders with just a few clicks, ensuring complete transparency and automation. The platform is integrated with Indian Oil's supply chain, ensuring quick fulfillment from the nearest distributor, further improving customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Digitization of Indian Oil Corporation's LPG distribution network marks a significant step forward in enhancing customer service, safety, and transparency in operations.
