Hindustan Zinc to pay Rs 8,028 cr as 2nd interim dividend at Rs 19/share

New Delhi: Hindustan Zinc Ltd, a company of the Vedanta group, announced on Tuesday that its board has given the green light for a second interim dividend of Rs 19 per share for the ongoing financial year, totaling Rs 8,028.11 crore. The board approved during a Tuesday meeting.

In a filing to BSE, Hindustan Zinc Ltd (HZL) announced that the board has reviewed and sanctioned a dividend of Rs 19 per equity share for the financial year 2024-25, totaling Rs 8,028.11 crore, which equals 950 percent of the face value of Rs 2 per equity share.  Previously announced that HZL intends to distribute a unique dividend of Rs 8,000 crore to its shareholders in the financial year 2025.

In FY24, HZL distributed a dividend of Rs 5,493 crore, of which the government received Rs 1,622 crore for its 29.5 pc ownership of the company. During FY23, the company achieved a milestone by distributing a dividend of approximately Rs 32,000 crore, with the government obtaining a significant Rs 9,500 crore.

HZL has announced a 19.3 per cent increase in combined net profit to Rs 2,345 crore for the June quarter of FY25 as a result of increased EBITDA. The company recorded a net profit of Rs 1,964 crore in the previous year. Revenue increased to Rs 8,398 crore compared to Rs 7,564 crore in the previous year.

Hindustan Zinc Ltd ranks as the second-largest integrated zinc producer worldwide and the third-largest silver producer. The company distributes to over 40 nations and dominates around 75 per cent of the primary zinc market in India.
