New Delhi: Gold prices on Monday jumped by Rs 347 to Rs 85,034 per 10 grams in futures trade as speculators created positions on a firm spot demand, per a PTI report.
Gold contracts for April delivery traded higher by Rs 347 or 0.41 per cent at Rs 85,034 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 15,555 lots on the Multi Commodity Exchange.
Analysts said that fresh positions built up by participants led to a rise in gold prices.
Globally, gold prices surged to a record-breaking high of USD 2,911.20 per ounce, attributed to escalating trade tensions between major economies.
