EDII organises Skillpreneurship Development Programme on Bamboo Jewellery

Guwahati: The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) has launched a 26-day Micro Skillpreneurship Development Program on Bamboo Jewellery making for rural women in Parle, Kamrup, Assam.

The program, supported by Accenture, aims to empower and support women in rural communities by providing them with the necessary skills and technical know-how to start their own businesses.

The program will offer training in technical know-how on Bamboo Jewellery, design development, business management, financial literacy, marketing strategies, and access to microloans. The program also provides handholding support to create individual and group enterprises.

Investing in women's entrepreneurship is critical for sustainable development in rural areas. Program Manager Ratan Guha stated that the program is designed to provide women with the tools they need to succeed as entrepreneurs while fostering a supportive community network.

The initiative aligns with EDII's commitment to sustainable development and gender equality. By equipping women with valuable skills, they can generate income, contribute meaningfully to their families' well-being, and contribute to overall community development. 

The program also aims to foster a culture of entrepreneurship among rural women, instilling confidence and providing support through mentoring and networking opportunities. By investing in the economic empowerment of these rural women, a more just society can be created.

The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), North East Regional Office, Guwahati has inaugurated 26 days Micro Skillpreneurship Development Program on the Trade 'Bamboo Jewellery' for rural women at Parle, Kamrup, Assam starts Today. The event was graced by Pranamika Pathak, Secretary, Parle GP along with EDII Official & Master Trainer Dulumuni Das 

The program is supported by Accenture and it aims to empower and support women in rural communities by providing them with the necessary skills and technical know-how to start their own businesses. 

The Microskill Entrepreneurship Development Program will offer training in technical know-how on Bamboo Jewellery, Design development, business management, financial literacy, marketing strategies, and access to microloans for the participants followed by the handholding support to create individual as well as group enterprises. By equipping women with these essential skills and resources, the program aims to create sustainable economic opportunities that will benefit not only the individual entrepreneurs but also their families and communities. EDII in support with Accenture believe that investing in women's entrepreneurship is critical for sustainable development in rural areas. 

During an interview with Business North East, Ratan Guha, Program Manager, EDII said, “This program is designed to provide women with the tools they need to succeed as entrepreneurs while also fostering a supportive community network.”
