‘Developed nation by 2047’: PM launches nationwide Viksit Bharat@2047 initiative

Governor of Assam is hosting the event at IIT Guwahati

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is launching ‘Viksit Bharat @2047: Voice of Youth’ at 10:30 am on Monday via video conferencing.

The Prime Minister is also addressing vice-chancellors of universities, heads of institutes, and faculty members in workshops organised at Raj Bhawans across the country, which will symbolise the initiative's start. In Assam, the event is being hosted by Governor Gulab Chand Kataria at IIT Guwahati. Education minister Ranoj Pegu is also attending the programme.

A state-specific programme will be conducted in the state wherein there will be a panel discussion on the contribution of NEP 2020 towards the transformation of higher education. An official release stated that more than 1000 academicians and students from 61 higher educational institutions across the state would physically participate in the event in addition to students and faculty from 45 higher educational institution and more than 600 colleges.

“Viksit Bharat@2047 is the vision to make India a developed nation by 2047, the 100th year of its independence. The vision encompasses various aspects of development, including economic growth, social progress, environmental sustainability, and good governance, among others”, as per an official release.
