New Delhi: Compensation has been announced for the victims of Kanchanjunga Express victims by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Enhanced ex-gratia compensation will be provided to the victims; Rs10 lakh in case of death, Rs. 2.5 lakh towards grievous and Rs.50,000 for minor injuries, he announced.
The accident was reported near Rangapani station in North Bengal involving a goods train and Kanchanjunga Express.
The accident resulted in the loss of four coaches of 13174 DN and five containers of a freight train (GFCJ) with a front train engine.
