Guwahati: Ten students of Assamese artist Sutapa Choudhury have received a Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT) scholarship for the 2023-24 academic year. The Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, provides financial assistance to students aged 10-14 and generates various training programs across India.

The institution awards approximately 650 CCRT scholarships annually, including exclusive programs for physically or mentally challenged students, Tribal Culture (ST) students, offspring of traditional art families, differentially abled students, and creative writing/literary art candidates.

Chowdhury and her students gained global recognition at the "Merging Cultures — Vasudeva Kutumbhakam" exhibition in Beijing, China, which showcased cultural exchange and artistic talent. Chowdhury's artworks, such as "Salvation," "Flow of Life," and "Joy," captured the lively energy of Assam's Bihu dance. The exhibition, supported by the Indian Embassy in China and Mintu Deka of SMD Art Foundation, featured 82 artists from various nations, including 20 students from Dibrugarh, Assam.
